Missions

We strive to serve others and share the gospel across town, across the state, across our nation and across the oceans.

We pledge a tithe of 10% from our operating budget for different types of organizations, scholarships for Bible College students, scholarships for student trips, and benevolence projects.

Below are the missions we currently sponsor:

The Mustard Seed Mission

Michael and Lisa Perkins fell in love with the people and country of Nicaragua during their visit in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch in 1998. After several short term mission trips, the Lord cleared the way for their family to live and serve in Nicaragua full time. Michael and Lisa have three kids: Kaia, Ellis, and Samuel.

The Mustard Seed Mission has five main ministries: housing for guest missions, hospitality training, Monte Fresco/Aduanas Dos, the Rio Coco, and Motorcycles for Missions.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP

Through the Mustard Seed Mission, Southern Hills has partnered with Aduana Dos, a community in Nicaragua. Each mission trip, this is the community we visit. In an effort to continue that partnership year round, members of the church have committed to sponsoring a child.

The cost of sponsoring a child is only $20 a month and is a huge blessing for the student and their families! The sponsorship program provides school books, supplies, backpacks, uniforms, after school reinforcement classes, and extra supplies, teaching material and equipment for the classrooms and schools.

If you would like to sponsor a child, please contact Kevin Jarrett at kjarrett@sohillscc.com.

Campus Outreach
of University of West Georgia

Campus Outreach seeks to build laborers with a commitment to the Great Commission through evangelism and discipleship. They are passionately reaching students with the gospel and training them to become mature followers of Christ. Their desire is then to see students leave college fully equipped to labor in the harvest field for the glory of God.
